Effective September 1, a workflow change was made to the online termination process. HR Client Partners are now the only individuals with access to initiate online terminations for staff, temporary wage hires and student employees. Departments will need to provide HR Client Partners with an email request that includes all of the necessary information and documents for the termination action. The same documents will be required to complete termination actions that have been required in the past.
Please send email requests directly to ssturdevantgwu [dot] edu (hr_ccas[at]gwu[dot]edu). Please initiate your request with as much advanced notice of the end date as possible.
Please note the following information in a termination request email:
- Provide a subject to the email that clearly identifies that a termination action is needed, such as "Termination Request: Employee Name"
- Whether this is a termination of a position or of a person
- Include a separation reason
- Benefitted positions will require a resignation letter (if appropriate) and a current leave balance (annual and sick) verified by the supervisor
